about the project

Organise weather, safety guidance and preparedness information so a user can describe a situation, understand its urgency and find an appropriate next step without confusing the product for an official emergency service.

client / owner
Wehthr / independent nonprofit
Jadyn role
Brand strategy and identity, product design, information architecture and digital product development, with policy advice from Wehthr’s founder.
engagement

delivered

A complete identity and responsive product connecting weather guidance, risk assessment, preparedness content and a zero-cost emergency-kit ordering flow.

result

Jadyn replaced manual applications and spreadsheet follow-up with an automated ordering pipeline and feedback loop. Wehthr reports about 15 applications, roughly 85% fulfilled, 7–14 business days to distribution and hours of administration saved each week.

Working with Jadyn Design Lab on Wehthr was one of the best decisions I made for the project.
Founder, Wehthr

The founder reports that the automated pipeline saves hours each week and that the work felt like a partnership, not a handoff.

01 / Context

A forecast is information. A decision needs context.

The live product addresses the step after checking the weather: deciding what to do. Its risk-to-action flow asks what is happening, where it is happening, how urgent it feels, what support is available and who is affected.

the identity

built for the moment you look outside and change your plans.

Wehthr is for everyday decisions: take the jacket, delay the drive, bring the umbrella, check on someone. the identity makes changing information quick to spot and easy to trust.

weather moves fast. finding what matters shouldn’t.

the mark

one dot says: start here.

“Wehthr” sounds familiar and stays short on screen. the letters feel calm and steady. the coral dot does the pointing, like the first drop on a window or a place on a map.

  1. 01easy to recognise at a glance.
  2. 02clear on a phone, jacket or street.
  3. 03enough attention without shouting.

the process

we kept taking things away until only the useful parts remained.

we tested the name, dot, W and colour at tiny and large sizes. if a version needed explaining, it didn’t make the cut.

    01

    say it naturally

keep the familiar sound people already know.

    02

give the eye a starting point

place the dot where attention begins.

    03

    take it into the world

check the system on screens and everyday weather gear.

typography

easy to read when you’re in a hurry.

the custom wordmark gives Wehthr its own voice. Onest handles the useful stuff—temperatures, warnings, buttons and longer guidance—without making people work for it.

icons you can understand before reading the label.

a sun should look like a sun. a warning should be clear. the icons use the same rounded lines so conditions, safety and next steps feel like one family.

motion principle

a small move is enough.

the dot arrives first, the name follows, and then everything settles. it feels like noticing a change in the sky—not watching a logo put on a show.

the system in use

clear weather information, with a human pulse.

Wehthr doesn’t try to make the weather predictable. it makes the information easier to notice, understand and act on—whether someone is at home, on the road or halfway out the door.

then the product picks up where the identity leaves off.

Evidence and limitations

Figures are approximate and client-reported. No applicant data was reviewed. Wehthr complements—not replaces—official alerts and emergency services.
